WE’RE WORKING ON A MUSEUM EXPANSION — AND WE’D LOVE TO HAVE YOUR HELP!
If you’ve visited the American Oddities Museum in Alton, Illinois, (or plan to do so!), then you likely already know that we’re a private, “mom and pop” place. We don’t have access to grants or special funds, which is why we charge an admission fee, even though it’s only $5. Since we opened in March, we’ve already made many changes to the museum, added new exhibits, and have turned the museum into a “must-see” spot that’s been drawing visitors from all over the country. This summer, we’re expanding the museum by making more BIG changes and bringing in more BIG exhibits, filled with weird, unusual, and historical items — and we’d love to have your help!
Of course, we’ve never run our business by asking for something and not offering something great in exchange. Our MUSEUM FUNDRAISER won’t be any different! In exchange for asking for your help, we’ll be offering a special event on August 31 in return — an event that includes drinks, food, an exclusive shirt that will never be offered again, and a brand new, never-before-offered presentation by author Troy Taylor! Plus, all those who attend will be added to a “wall of donors” that will be on display in the American Oddities Museum.

AMERICAN ODDITIES MUSEUM
As part of the AUGUST 31 FUNDRAISER EVENT, Troy Taylor will be presenting a NEW, blood-soaked presentation of ghost stories and horror tales connected to America’s murder ballads. Reveling in gore and set to music, murder ballads were the tabloid newspapers of the past, telling stories of horrible events that often left ghostly tales behind! You don’t want to miss this!
Join us at the American Oddities Museum on August 31 for a special event that’s exclusive to donors to the museum! Guests will have the chance to peruse some of the new exhibits to the museum — with free drinks and snacks — and then settle in for a brand new presentation (never offered before!) from Troy Taylor called “DON’T YOU WISH THAT YOU WERE DEAD?”: MURDER BALLAD HAUNTINGS AND HORRORS!
